RBANS thanks you for visiting our website, please look around and see all that we have to offer to you, the Nova Scotia smallmouth bass angler.

RBANS Formation:

In December of 2008 all of the Nova Scotia bass club presidents met in Liverpool, NS to discuss regulations and ideas surrounding tournaments in NS.

During these and subsequent conversations it became evident that NS needed a formal group to deal with concerns, policies and future initiatives surrounding the bass fishery in Nova Scotia. A group that was at arms length from tournaments yet involved with the organized clubs; a group that was able to encompass all bass anglers in Nova Scotia whether you chose to be a member of an organized club or not, anywhere in the province.

We identified that RBANS needed to be more than just a bass group though and that it needed to be rational in its approach with respect to other NS fish species. While doing everything it could for smallmouth bass it had to also be appreciative of and able to do what it could for other species that share our Nova Scotia waters. It is an admitted fine line to follow but NS bass anglers are a special breed and our support for all fish species is a cornerstone of our uniqueness.

RBANS was the resulting effort of all of these discussions and visions; we are here now and ready to work on your behalf, to make the Nova Scotia smallmouth bass fishery the best it can be. We strive to educate others about the fishery, to protect the smallmouth bass fishery and support all reasonable opportunities for you the bass angler.

Join RBANS Today:

As with any other association out there, we cannot do anything without our members, we have taken the initiative to organize RBANS and set out the basic goals of the group. Now we need you, we need you to join RBANS and help us finish establishing the future of smallmouth bass fishing in Nova Scotia.

We offer membership for all types of smallmouth bass anglers, you do not need to belong to a club already to be a member of RBANS. We are reaching out to all anglers so if bass fishing for you is the fun of a local club holding competitive bass tournaments on the weekends then RBANS is for you. If your idea of bass fishing is a quiet get away without the roar of others and boats then RBANS is for you. If you bass fish in Nova Scotia and want to see your bass fishing improve, RBANS is for you.

Please visit our membership link at the top of this page and become a proud member of RBANS today.
